Meet the
Cartoonists

Hi. My name is Dan Lietha. Like most cartoonists, I have been drawing since I was a child. In grade school I used to receive mixed reviews about my drawing. Most teachers thought I could draw well but they wished I would draw things more acceptable to them rather than the dinosaurs and monsters I loved to draw. Funny, now my profession requires me to draw lots of dinosaurs and I even have illustrated three books about dinosaurs or including dinosaurs. I still love drawing dinosaurs! If only I could show my teachers what I do now!

In 1987, I Graduated from The Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art.   I have been a full-time professional cartoonist since 1991. From 1991-1996 I worked as a staff cartoonist at Mello Smello in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This company produces mostly products for children like stickers, posters, fun meal type bags and boxes, and window clings. It was 5 years of great art experience.

In 1994, a comic strip named CreationWise became my personal side-line project. My desire was to get the message to the church about the need to get back to the foundational book of their faith, Genesis. In 1995, samples of this comic strip were sent to Answers in Genesis. One month later I found myself working on my first children's book, A is for Adam, written by Ken & Mally Ham. My drawing for AiG continued on a volunteer basis for 2 years and in 1997, I started working for Answers in Genesis as their full-time staff illustrator. My responsibilities are to produce illustrations for the AIG speakers to use during their lectures, illustrate books, create cartoons for the monthly newsletter and for the web site,  www.AnswersInGenesis.org.  On my own time I produce cartoons for my own web site (www.danltoons.com).   My wife Marcia and I currently live in Northern Kentucky.

I received Jesus Christ into my life as a young child as Lord and Savior. Interestingly enough, art played a part in my hearing the Gospel message on that life changing night. I am thankful for the place the Lord has put me in. Praise God He can use cartoonists!

Tim Bertram

I reside in Kentucky with my wife, two children, dog, and cat!  I accepted Jesus Christ as my LORD and SAVIOR on March 29th, 1992. I currently work as a plumber, and I'm working on my Bachelor's Degree.

I recently surrendered to full time Christian service this summer. God has gifted me with the talent to draw and I have committed that talent to be used for HIS glory. It is my hearts desire that EVERYONE comes to the saving power of Jesus Christ. God has brought me to Christian Cartoons (dot) com and given me an opportunity to share HIS love with a different twist...thru cartoons. The message is simple, Jesus died for you! He loves you and wants a personal relationship with you! Please give Him your life, He gave His for you. That's why were here, to spread the gospel!!!!!

"Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the father through Him." Colossians 3:17

All glory to God,

Tim & family

Trudy O. McConnell has been drawing cartoons all her life. She created her first cartoon panel at age six, and her first characters. Influenced by the popular comic strip "Peanuts", she decided to become a cartoonist. In her teen years, Trudy drew a comic strip for two local newspapers, about a spaceship and its crew.

When she accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in her early twenties, Trudy's artwork turned to different subjects. She drew and painted for different church groups, and in recent years, started doing "Bulletoon", with the idea that churches could use the one-panel cartoons for the backs of bulletins. One of her favorite scripture verses is included in many of the cartoons, Proverbs 17:22. "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine..." Trudy feels that humor is a wonderful gift from God, and does indeed contribute to a person's well-being. "Bulletoon" centers around humorous (although often unlikely) things that could happen in a church-goer's life.

Trudy lives in a small town in Kentucky, with her husband and three children. In addition to drawing cartoons, she also writes freelance articles, crochets, and paints with watercolor.

Ward Vaughn

Ward Vaughn is in his early twenties. He has been drawing cartoons since he was a child. He has pursued syndication and publication since the age of fourteen. He likes to read the works of the masters and pursues other self- directed studies. He became a Christian at the age of five.
